"If you’re looking to work outdoors on the East Coast during your working holiday visa, then Blue Mountain is the place to do it. You can work year-round (ish) – minus some off season months where you could travel or head back to the city. With subsidised staff housing and a lift pass included, it’s a great choice vs some of the pricier resorts in B.C. if you’re on more of a budget. Plus, if you haven’t seen a pair of ski before, it’s a good place to learn. It’s quieter in the week, giving you more runs to ride, with livelier nightlife at weekends."

While Blue Mountain isn’t short of things to do – we’d argue that this ride up the mountain aboard the open-air gondola is a must-do. Soak up 360-degree-views of the UNESCO-listed Niagara Escarpment and Georgian Bay, then tuck into a hearty meal at the Summitview Pavilion – located right at the peak.
