Want the inside scoop on the best working holiday jobs in Canada? Keep reading...
One of the most asked questions the JENZA Support Squad get is “what sort of job will I get in Canada?” Well, we're here to tell you the good news - there's lots of options available to suit your desires (if you get in nice and early) from hitting the slopes all day at a ski resort to keeping cosy pouring brews at a café. Let's break down some of the popular roles
Before we get into it, let’s quickly run you through the T&Cs, what visas you’ll need so you can work in Canada and what this entitles you to.
To work in Canada, you need a work permit from the International Experience Canada (the IEC). You’re only allowed one visa per lifetime, and it gives you 23 months in most industries.
There are a limited number of IEC Canada visas each year and this is worked out by a pool system. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to take a dip in this pool - you’ll have to wait for Canada for that one.
Now for the good bit: the jobs you can undertake on your adventures.
For the duration of your visa, you’ll have access to our job database and resource centres in Toronto and Vancouver. Below, we’ve listed some of the job opportunities available around your adventures.
Are you a people person with a helpful, friendly and welcoming attitude? If this sounds like you, get started looking for your perfect role with JENZA.
If you’re a hardworking and customer-driven person, then hospitality may be calling your name. Canada has lots of cafés, bars and restaurants that are always on the hunt for international staff.
Administrative roles are a great way to develop your organisational skills. A transferable skill that is always desirable to employers.
Just like one of Canada’s most famous superstars, Justin Bieber, we ‘never say never’.
When looking at jobs related to your degree, you’ll be in a competitive field. This is because you’ll need to be as equally qualified as Canadians also looking for this type of role. This becomes even more competitive because seasonal work means you’ll be leaving after a certain amount of time. However, it’s definitely worth a try – you never know.
On our Ultimate program, we can secure a pre-arranged job for you at a world-renowned ski resort once you have your visa. No big deal. With positions in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, you’ll be spoilt for choice in these stunning locations. To name a few…
Waking up to a gorgeous ski resort and scenery, whilst furthering your communication skills? Sign us up. There’s a wide variety of front-of-house positions available on Ultimate. Some of these roles include waiting staff, bartending, front desk representation and many more.
Do you love to cook or clean? We have a heap of positions ranging from roles in food preparation to kitchen porters, room attendants and housekeeping.
Want to be in on the action? If corporate work isn’t for you, make your office view the slopes and look into ski lift attendant roles. You’ll pick up some in-demand skills on the way including problem-solving and people skills.
Are you after a middleman who can help you secure your Canadian dreams? Need we introduce ourselves? JENZA is here to help.
To give you the best experience, we use our experience to shape yours. JENZA Work Canada will set you up with everything you need to be able to travel and work in Canada.
We know that job hunting is literally the worst thing. So, we’ll source and vet hundreds of jobs for you. This means that you’ll be able to interview before you go, once you’ve landed and for your whole visa.
We’ll guide you through it all, because giving the full picture is kind of our thing. From navigating the working holiday visa process, to bed nights, workshops and bank account support, we’ll be here through it all. Let’s get you ready to conquer Canada.
